Maintenance Chief IV
Department of Juvenile Services seeks a Maintenance Chief IV at the Western Maryland Children's Center. A Maintenance Chief IV is the supervisory level of stationary engineering and building maintenance workers. The Maintenance Chief IV at the Department of Juvenile Services, Western Maryland Children's Center will be responsible for the construction, installation, alterations, renovations, preventive maintenance, repairs, and snow removal. The position will be responsible for the daily uninterrupted operation of heating, air conditioning, lighting, sanitation, and all other institutional equipment and systems. The Maintenance Chief IV position will supervise building maintenance personnel and outside contractors who perform maintenance of the facilities; including ensuring compliance with health, safety, and building codes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Eighth grade.
Experience: Five years of experience in the building maintenance or building construction trades including four years of experience assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
