Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Performs foot and vehicle patrols of all buildings on property. Monitors activities in and around buildings, parking lots, and open fields.
- Ensures guest and meeting rooms are locked and secure.
- Detects any safety hazards or issues, documents them, and reports promptly.
- Performs clean-up of bio-hazardous incidents, such as vomit or blood.
- Completes written documentation of all injuries, damaged property, theft, vandalism, etc.
- In the absence of the Manager on Duty, handles guest conflicts involving intoxication, unauthorized possession of alcohol, etc.
- Enforces policies and procedures of the Conference Center.
- Responsible for the evacuation of buildings in emergency situations.
- High school diploma or G.E.D and one year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the University's automobile insurance.
- Skill in building security, lock procedures, and protection services.
- Ability to write detailed and accurate reports.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet, and other relevant software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.
- Ability to maintain effective customer relations.
- Ability to detect criminal activity and communicate with Campus Police Officers.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and make logical decisions.
- Ability to operate equipment safely, such as vehicle wheelchair lift and two-way-radio.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Ability to successfully complete First Aid, CPR and Blood-borne Pathogen training.
- Basic knowledge of hazardous materials.
- HBV vaccine.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, and Repetitive Motions. Possess visual acuity to operate motor vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned. Activities occur both inside and outside, subject to both environmental conditions. Subject to noise, vibrations, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
