General Manager
Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District Job Announcement.
The Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District is seeking a General Manager to assume the position on or about December 1, 2019. The Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District is an active water district dedicated to protecting and managing the water resources of the District. The District includes part of three counties and has its office in Gunnison, Colorado, a community with excellent schools and Western Colorado University. The General Manager, along with the General Counsel, reports directly to the District Board of Directors.
The duties of the position include: staff management, financial management, preparation for and involvement in regular Board meetings and Board Committee meetings, Board relations, elections and appointments of Board members, project and consultant management, public relations, District association with outside entities, administration duties and other work-related duties assigned by the Board. This is a challenging, high-profile position that requires excellent technical, administrative, communication and public relations skills and knowledge of water resource management. An engineering, hydrology, watershed science, or water resource management background and at least five (5) years of experience are desirable with comparable duties as listed above. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
