JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Longitudinal Course Coordinator coordinates all required longitudinal courses for all four years of the undergraduate medical education program under the direction of the Longitudinal Course and Simulation Manager. This position supports the Principles of Clinical Medicine (PCM) and Longitudinal Scholars Program (LSP) events, tracks completion of course requirements, maintains educational records, and ensures compliance with the LCME accreditation standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains records for tracking student participation in required events following established protocols.
  2. Tracks and validates completion of online modules, quizzes, grading data, and other course requirement for LSP; tracks and validates completion of quizzes, and other grading data for first- and second-year students for PCM.
  3. Assists Longitudinal Course and Simulation Manager with tracking and validation of teaching hours earned for fourth year students.
  4. Updates mapped course and lecture learning objectives in the LMS (eMedley); updates students and faculty via LMS (eMedley).
  5. Assists Longitudinal Course and Simulation Manager in communicating needs (facilities and equipment) to CHIPS staff.
  6. Creates and distributes automated forms used in course management.
  7. Provides support for the delivery of the COM simulated learning experiences in a variety of formats (standardized patients, interactive case studies, virtual patient encounters, etc.) in both physical and online environments.
  8. Creates printed programs for project presentation events for LSP course.
  9. Provides backup support for coordinating the community preceptor component of the PCM courses.
  10. Maintains gradebooks in eMedley for each LSP/PCM course per year.
  11. Enters approved final grades into Banner each semester.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree.(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of work-related technical experience; OR a combination of education and experience to equal six (6) years. (Experience in course management, instruction, or curriculum in a health-related discipline preferred).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to successfully execute many tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as work independently and perform in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Zoom software.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings.
