Job Summary
The Ebbert lab seeks a candidate that is excited to contribute to scientific research in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease.
The candidate will have the opportunity to apply cutting-edge long-range (e.g., Bionano Genomics) and long-read sequencing (e.g., PacBio and Oxford Nanopore Technologies) to better understand what causes these diseases and how to improve patient care. The candidate will be directly responsible for extracting and preparing DNA and RNA and performing the scientific assays.
The candidate will also be responsible for strict quality control of the samples and data throughout the entire process. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the candidate will be responsible for basic lab needs, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, cleanliness, and organization. Above all, the candidate must be respectful of all cultures and contribute to a positive, inclusive lab culture, where all lab members feel welcome and safe.
IEBC (Internal Employee Being Considered)

Prior wet-lab experience, especially working with DNA and RNA, is ideal but not required.
