The Department of Management of the Harrison College of Business and Computing seeks candidates with a healthcare administration background for a full-time faculty position to start August 2024. Position reports to the Management Department Chair and serves as a member of the Healthcare Management Curriculum Committee.

Position Responsibilities:
The healthcare curriculums are comprised of courses in healthcare finance, health law, practice management, international health systems, performance improvement, quality & value, informatics, healthcare data systems, health policy, marketing & strategy, and internship. Load assignments will be from this listing and future changes or other courses as developed.

  1. Assistant Professor. Teaching load is 4 courses at the graduate and undergraduate level (12 credits) per semester. Produce scholarly works aligned with departmental and institutional standards.
  2. Instructor. Teaching load is 5 courses at the graduate and undergraduate and (15 credits) per semester.
Primary Responsibilities for either Assistant Professor or Instructor Position:
  • Provide teaching in multiple formats including in-person, Zoom, and on-line instructional formats
  • Foster engagement with student research projects and publication opportunities
  • Support involvement in student internships and collaboration with participating health facilities
  • Support provision of student organizations
  • Actively participate in recruitment and retention activities of students
  • Assist with program and curriculum development, assessment monitoring, and on-going certification and accreditation criteria compliance
  • Advise majors in healthcare management programs and within the college as needed and hold regular on-campus office hours
  • Participate in department, college, university, and professional service as specified
  • Participate in the Healthcare Management advisory board


Required Qualifications


  • Applicants will be considered as an assistant professor (tenure track) or as an instructor (non-tenure track) in accordance with the following credentials:
  1. Assistant Professor: Doctoral degree or ABD with Ph.D. by August 1, 2024 in healthcare administration, public health, health economics or a closely related discipline (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.)
  2. Instructor: Master's degree or higher in healthcare administration, public health, health economics, business administration or a closely related discipline with significant work experience in the healthcare industry. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.)
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective teaching for a variety of courses in the management of healthcare either face to face or through technology
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with external constituencies
  • Evidence of effective communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality peer-reviewed research related to healthcare management (for tenure track only)
