Overview 

As the Assistant Director of Student Involvement, you will play a vital role in supporting and contributing to the overall development and success of the fraternity, sorority, and student organization community at OWU. You will oversee fraternity and sorority life (FSL) and advise, coordinate, collaborate and develop meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff, advisors, and volunteers to enrich the OWU experience. To excel in this position you will build relationships, apply leadership theories and frameworks, and cultivate a community of inclusion and equity. 

Who We Are Looking For:

  • You have the drive and motivation to support FSL governing councils, chapters, and membership recruitment process.
  • You have superior organization skills and will maintain accurate FSL records.
  • You enable registered student organizations (RSOs) to thrive at OWU by managing new club processes, event registration, advisor education, contract oversight and policy assistance.
  • You take ownership of resources for student organizations and advisors; keeping them relevant and in line with industry best practices.
  • You have a flexible schedule and are able to work with students during the hours and days they need you most – which may include nights or weekends from time-to-time.

Factors Contributing to Success: 

  • Knowledge of and a working understanding of current best practices in fraternity and sorority life, risk management and the structure of NIC, NPHC, and NPC organizations.
  • Administrative experience with student organization registration, training, and leadership development
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and equity within a diverse organization, team, and campus community.
  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel, or closely related field.
