Spanish Teacher
With a population of just over 300 students, Menands Union Free School District is a unique PreK-8 school and district. We are a very supportive school community, and work collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of our students in a nurturing environment.
Menands School is accepting applications for a full-time, probationary K-8 Spanish Teacher commencing September 2024. The successful candidate must possess NYS certification in Spanish 7-12 or 5-9. Preference will be given to individuals who hold dual or multiple certifications and who have relevant experience; as well as those who are willing to become involved in extracurricular activities and be a contributing member of the school community.
Spanish Teacher Expectations

Plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive culturally responsive teaching and instruction program for students;

Provide appropriate and effective learning experiences for students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds;

Effectively assess the instructional and educational needs of students, and design, develop, and implement sound instructional and educational programs;

Provide a motivating and stimulating learning environment;

Perform research and development activities pertaining to curriculum and instructional programs and design projects to enhance educational opportunities and experiences for all students.

Minimum Qualifications

New York State certification in content area.

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
