Pharmaceutical Plant Engineer
A small family owned pharmaceutical company is seeking a Plant Engineer.
The company, located in a small Midwest town in Iowa, is a well-established manufacturer and marketer of nutritional and pharmaceutical products. Operations are currently certified for both animal and human products. This company is located approximately 1 hour from Omaha, NE, and 2 hours from Kansas City, MO.
This position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating corporate engineering systems, including facilities, manufacturing and processing equipment.
The applicant must possess a professional degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing and processing management with preference given to experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
The successful applicant must have a keen knowledge of safety principles and practices related to the use of manufacturing tools and equipment, hazards and safety practices necessary to the operation in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, cGMP guidelines, and FDA regulations. Strong knowledge of industrial pharmaceutical machinery, proficiency in robotics and CNC programming, experience with tooling design and CAM programming is preferable. The Plant Engineer must have effective communication, technical and management skills. They will be proficient in reading and understanding mechanical and electrical system blue prints and technical schematics, electrical and system problems as well as have the ability to exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity and sensitivity in response to manufacturing needs. The successful applicant will need to direct the work of those in the maintenance department and communicate department needs to upper level management, travel to different sites, and be goal-oriented and highly organized.
Remuneration is negotiable and based on qualifications and experience.
