The Department of Agriculture at EKU offers a variety of academic programs. Students can earn a two-year Associate's degree in Technical Agriculture, and/or a four-year Bachelor's Degree in Animal & Veterinary Sciences or Agriculture, with various concentrations to choose from. Students experience hands-on learning at our 1,000-acre production farm, in our greenhouses, through teaching & research labs, mechanic shop, and garden & turf plots. Class sizes are small, and engagement is high. Faculty promote student opportunities through scientific/industry conferences, competitions, symposiums, and more - helping our graduates develop professional network experience for launching their careers.
Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Agriculture at Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a talented and flexible part-time faculty member to teach undergraduate classes, beginning in January 2024.
The successful candidate is expected to teach courses primarily related to our BS Agriculture, Agribusiness Management Concentration, but could include others. The individual is expected to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with undergraduate students and the university community.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A master's degree in Agriculture or related field, or master's degree with a concentration in Agriculture or related field, from a regionally (SACS, Middle States, North Central, etc.) accredited or internationally recognized institution is required. A minimum of 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
