The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at DePauw University invites applications for a 1-year term position (with possibility of renewal, based on performance and administrative evaluation of departmental staffing needs) in Social-Cultural Psychology, broadly defined, to begin in August 2024. A doctoral degree in psychology or appropriate allied discipline at the time of appointment is required for Assistant Professor rank; ABD will be considered for Instructor rank. The search is open to candidates in any area of social-cultural psychology who are committed to effective and inclusive teaching of undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting. Teaching load is 6 courses per year, and will include Social Psychology and Introductory Psychology, and other courses that might include Research Methods, Statistics, Cultural Psychology, or other courses/topics within the candidate's expertise as needed. The department recognizes that the education we offer our students is strongest when our faculty represent a broad range of backgrounds, expertise, experiences, and perspectives. Candidates should be able to demonstrate, in application materials, a commitment to fostering an engagement with a diversity of ideas and experiences, which promote an inclusive environment in the classroom and at the University. Funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students.
