Due to an upcoming retirement, Connections Area Agency on Aging has an opportunity for a fiscal leader and member of our management team to be our next Director of Finance. Must have proven success in fiscal field and work well within a team. Experience with federal grants and state appropriations is a plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

POSITION TITLE: Director of Finance
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY: Forecast and Assess the Financial needs of the Organization and Direct Funds Appropriately.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervise Fiscal Department
· Develop and Monitor Annual Budget
· Plan Monthly Budget Meetings with Internal Staff
· Assist the Auditors in the Annual Audit
· Track and Monitor Cash Flow
· Supervise and Assist in Month-end Closings
· Prepare Monthly Financial Statements for the Board of Directors and Internal Management Staff
· Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Reports as required by the State of Iowa and various grant agencies
· Provide Feedback to Management regarding Fiscal Trends; Analysis of potential Fiscal issues; Analysis of Agency Capacity
· Assist in daily activities of the department as needed
· Other tasks as needed by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Admin or Finance, CPA preferred
Experience: 5+ years of Related Experience, Audit or Fiscal Forecasting Experience,
and Adherence to the Standard Principles of Accounting
Management Experience: 3+ years
Accounting Software Experience: Abila MIP, a plus
Mandatory Requirements: Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, auto insurance and be able to travel in and outside of service area. Must successfully pass a Criminal and Dependent Adult Abuse background checks before hire.

The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
