Electrical Maintenance Technician

Starting pay: $32-$34/hr plus $1 shift premium *based on experience

Primary Duties: Keep machinery, equipment and plant structure in operating condition, this includes but is not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical components
  • Understand required instruments to troubleshoot electrical circuits and PLC’s
  • Read schematics and blueprints
  • Carries out the TPM (Preventative Maintenance Program)
  • Periodically checks machines and equipment while performing preventative maintenance as required
  • Repairing machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and fits replacement parts and/or makes replacement parts as required.
  • Capable of servicing and operating precision hand tools, and electronic equipment
  • Adjust machines for production when adjustment is beyond the scope of the operator
  • Modify equipment as required
  • Install new equipment including hook up of electrical power, gas, water air etc.
  • Maintains and installs piping, fittings, valves, gauges, and all types of controls for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gas and air lines
  • Set-up and operate a lathe, milling machines, drill press, grinder, welder, etc and improvises when equipment is limited
  • Designs and builds small tools and fixtures from sketches or verbal instructions
  • Ability to plan and lay our work, determines accurate and efficient methods and diagnoses while correcting difficulties to minimize production interruptions

Additional Duties:

  • Provide effective leadership on off-shifts to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to work as a team and able to take orders to fulfill various projects
  • Troubleshoot and provide corrective actions for PLC communication networks, including DeviceNet, DH+, Profibus and Ethernet related to PLC protocols
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting and programing to complete corrective actions
    • Ability to solve technical problems and provide assistance to team members in various technical aspects
  • Properly document and communicate changes made to electrical and mechanical systems
    • Perform troubleshooting of VFD in motion, servo drive and induction motors
    • Download and configure Panelview HMI’s
    • Troubleshoot electrical instrumentation used on equipment and adjust accordingly.
    • Required to be a first responder.
    • Performs all other duties as directed by supervisors

Shift:

  • 11:00 PM – 7:15 AM Monday-Friday.
  • Overtime coverage at other times of day will be required

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Secondary Education including technical schools or specialized training
  • Must successfully pass the NOCTI Electrical and Electronics Maintenance Exam

(Course 0634) by a score of 70 or above.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • 5 years verifiable experience
