Electric Substation Technician

City of Martinsville has an opening for an Electric Substation Technician. This is semi skilled and skilled work assisting in the installation, repair, maintenance, and testing of meters, relays and substation equipment. Work involves assisting in the installation, maintenance, and testing of meters and relays and the maintenance and monitoring of substation equipment. High school diploma or G.E.D is required. Must be physically able to climb 35-90 ft poles, work among high tension wire, lift up to 100 lbs and work under adverse weather conditions. Preference given to applicants already certified as a First or Second Class Journeyman.
