Water Treatment Manager

The Water Treatment Manager is responsible for oversight of the water treatment plant and distribution system. They provide ongoing supervision and coordination of the water production staff including work schedules, assigning and reviewing work, training, evaluating performance, interviewing, and recommending the hiring, evaluation and discipline of employees. Keeps and maintains variety of records in the department. The Water Treatment Manager assists the Public Works Director in developing and managing the operating budget, assessing and specifying Capital needs, and the procurement of materials and supplies. They will be involved in the design and construction of a new water treatment plant, which is expected to be operational in 2027.

* Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
* Preferred minimum of 5 years of experience in in water treatment and distribution
* Possession of a valid Illinois Class A Water Operator's Certificate or ability to obtain one within 6 months
* Preferred minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant supervision and management of employees
* Relevant training and experience may be substituted in lieu of education and experience requirements.
